The entire watch is finished in all-black, and the band of each model is hot-stamped with the name of each successive model that has evolved in technology, construction, and materials. The distinctive star mark is engraved on the side button, creating a special model to commemorate the 40th anniversary. The bezels and bands of all models are made of biomass plastic. The backlight and case back feature the 40th logo designed by Eric Hays, who also designed G-Shock's 25th, 30th, and 35th logos.
